Kenny Cox, founding member of The Kapo Kings, began his musical career behind the drums at the age of 7. His father was a Southern preacher and his mother sang in the choir and encouraged his young talent. As an adult, Kenny traveled the US with various professional bands, playing everything from blues & soul to reggae and Buffett. After a stint in Nashville with Dreamworks Records, Kenny returned to Southwest Florida and continued to play live music. After teaching himself to play guitar (helped along by one or two capos), he started what is now known as The Kapo Kings, along with Florida Cracker JP Hoover on guitar and harps. Dave Dust of Sanibel fame joins on lead guitar to deliver a musica style that Kenny calls ClassicAmeriCountrySoulRock.
